  • Why choose TheatreworX?
TheatreworX Stage School has been the leading provider of performing arts to youth aged 5 -young adult for nearly 20 years. In this time, we have crafted what we believe to be the highest quality programmes for young people interested in developing their skills in this field.
  • What are the benefits of TheatreworX?
Our programmes offer a host of benefits to participants, which extend well beyond that of simply teaching them performing arts skills. We pride ourselves on our ability to provide an environment where students can have fun while achieving social and personal development among a host of other benefits.
  • Does my child need to audition?
No, we cater for students across all skill levels, from those who have never tried the performing arts, to those who have had many years of experience! However, auditions will be held for the principals and/or solo singers in our end of year show in The Helix.
  • At what age can a student start?
Tots (aged 3-6 years) Juniors (aged 6-12 years) Seniors (Aged 13 to Young Adult)
  • Do students require previous experience?
Many of our students join our classes exclusively to increase their self-confidence. No experience is required to join our School.
  • Can my child request to be in the same class as their friends?
Class divisions are made strictly by birthdate. Over time we have found that this is the most equitable way to divide classes. Providing your child's birthdate falls within the same bracket as his/her friend, and there is space in the chosen class, we may be able to place friends in the same class. However, we cannot promise to accommodate friendship groups.
  • What commitment is expected from parents?
The biggest commitment for our parents is ensuring that their son/daughter arrives to class and other scheduled activities on time and are collected when they conclude. We would also ask that parents are supportive about their child’s commitment to the training.
  • What are the age ranges and how many students are in each class?
Groups are split in to age-appropriate classes and on average the class size is between 15-20.
  • What happens in class?
TheatreworX have each session split into three segments – singing/musical theatre, dancing and drama. Each discipline has a dedicated teacher.
  • Who are your teachers?
Our teachers are all industry professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds. From experienced and working actors, to singers, leading choreographers and directors, our staff brings the best of the performing arts industry direct to our classes. Given our 20-year history, some are even past students who have gone on to be successful in their chosen field! Additionally all staff are garda vetted.
  • How long do the classes go for?
Class length varies dependent on the level at which a student is at but generally Tots are 1 hour, while Juniors and Seniors are 2 hours.

  • Can parents attend classes?
Unfortunately parents are not able to attend weekly classes. Why? A lot of our students come to us for personal development and to build confidence, when parents are present it can impede this by distracting students, shifting their focus and changing their behaviour. It is also used to maintain a strict security policy as all our teachers have been Garda Vetted, something we cannot verify for each parent. However, we would encourage all parents to come to the end-of-year show and various displays we may do during the year to get an understanding of how your child is progressing.
  • When does the show take place?
Students perform in a fully staged professional theatre production normally on the weekend after the May bank holiday every year. However, in 2017, the show will take place on May 14th and 15th.
